Getting Started Checklist with the Target Plan
Last updated: October 29, 2025
Welcome to Vector Target β the fastest way to build and activate high-intent audiences that automatically stay up to date.
This checklist helps you go from install to activation in about 45 minutes.
Step 1: Install the Pixel
π‘ Why it matters: The pixel powers Ad Reveal, audience syncs, and campaign performance tracking. Without it, data canβt flow to your ad platforms or CRM.

1A. Install the Pixel
β Add the Vector pixel to your website so we can start tracking traffic and powering Ad Reveal.
1B. Add Sub-Domains (if applicable)
β Make sure Vector is tracking all the right traffic by adding any sub-domains to your allow list.
π [How to set up your allow list β]
β Donβt skip this if you have sub-domains β otherwise, key visitor traffic could slip through the cracks.
Step 2: Update Your Settings
π‘ Why it matters: Your settings tell Vector who to focus on and what data to prioritize for ad and CRM syncs.
β Head over to Settings to fine-tune Vector for your plan.
Define your ICP (Ideal Customer Profile) by listing titles, seniorities, and roles you care about most.
Upload account lists as CSV or directly from your CRM (dynamic and always up to date).
Update your Billing info to keep things humming.

Step 3: Connect Ad Platforms
π‘ Why it matters: Connected platforms let Vector automatically build and refresh your audiences β no more CSV uploads or manual syncing.
Connect your ad platforms so Vector can automatically push data over to them.
Native integrations (ready to connect today): LinkedIn (connect twice - one for inbound (Campaign Reporting) and one for outbound (Audience Creation), Google, X (Twitter), and Reddit.
Non-native integrations (manual for now): Meta, Snapchat, TikTok, Bing.
π‘ Heads up: If youβd love for non-native platforms to be added, email us at solutions@vector.co β weβre always capturing feedback. Bonus: Meta is on track to join the native club by the end of 2025.
Step 4: Connect Slack (if applicable)
π‘ Why it matters: Connected platforms let Vector automatically build and refresh your audiences β no more CSV uploads or manual syncing.
β Get real-time alerts on high-intent visitors delivered right into your teamβs Slack.

Step 5: Integrate Your CRM
π‘ Why it matters: CRM integration makes sure every visit or ad click ties back to a real record your team can act on.

Connect your CRM to keep everything in sync.

Step 6: Check out Identified Visitors in the Visitor Feed
Note - if you just installed the pixel on your site - you will not see any data in this view for a few hours! Check back if that's the case.
Go to Visitor Feed and set the Timeframe in the top right corner(e.g., Last 7 days).
Click on ICP to see only contacts that meet the ICP you set up in the step above.

Step 7: Track impact with Campaign Reporting
Open Campaigns from the navigation on the top left.
Filter by status or timeframe to see campaign performance.
Drill into Engaged Contacts, CTR, Match Rate, and Landing Page performance.
Screenshot to share the dashboard view with stakeholders.

Step 8: Create Your First Segment
β Build at least one segment this week to see Vector in action.

π [How to create a segment β]
Starter ideas:
Target Accounts visit high intent pages (pricing, demo, blog) on your site β send to LinkedIn as a remarketing audience
ICP contacts engaging with competitor topics β alert sales via Slack
Open opportunities visiting pricing pages β push to Google Ads
𧩠Troubleshooting Tips
Pixel not firing? Check your tag manager or consent tool timing.
Audience not updating? Confirm your ad platform connection is active.
Low match rate? Ensure your ads use professional domains (e.g., LinkedIn, not Gmail).
