Location Filter for Targeted Campaigns
Location Filter for Targeted Campaigns
Updated this week

Overview

The Location filter in Vector helps you identify where your contacts actually live — at the contact level, not the account level. This means you can segment and target the people within accounts based on their personal location, not just their company HQ.

This is incredibly valuable for Account-Based Marketers and Field Marketers who want to create customized, location-specific experiences, like in-person events, tailored outreach, or regional campaigns.

Why Use the Location Filter?

  • Contact-level precision: You’ll know where the actual contact is located, not just where the company is headquartered.

  • Perfect for Field & ABM: Easily build segments to create highly-targeted in-person events or geo-specific campaigns.

  • Flexible: The Location filter works with any trigger — including Site Visitors, Intent Signals, or Ad Clicks.

Example Use Case – Building an In-Person Event Audience

Want to invite the right people to a highly relevant event? Here's how:

Setup:

  • Trigger: Intent Topics relevant to your business

  • Filter: Location = [City or Region where you want the event]

  • Filter: Target Account = Yes

  • Filter: Seniority = C-Level (optional, for executive-only events, as an example)

Result: You now have a segment of contacts who:

  • Are showing intent for your solution

  • Live in the city or region you are targeting

  • Are part of a target account

  • (Optional) Meet seniority criteria

These are perfect candidates for a personalized event invitation, custom nurture, or direct outreach as part of your ABM strategy.

Best Practices

✅ Always pair Location with behavioral triggers like Intent or Site Visitor for meaningful segments.
✅ Don’t rely solely on Account HQ — focus on where your buyers actually are.
✅ For field events, always build a dedicated location-based segment for better attendance and engagement.
