Inviting Users & Permissions in Vector

Last updated: September 10, 2026

Managing who has access to Vector β€” and what they can do β€” is simple. Vector has three user roles: Owner, Admin, and Member.

πŸ«‚ How to Invite Users

To invite a new user, you must be an Owner or Admin. Not sure what your permission level is? No worries. All user permissions can navigate to the bottom-left corner of Vector and hover over your name. You’ll see an option to Invite Users.

From the Invite Users page:

  1. Enter the email address of the person you want to invite.

  2. Select their permission level.

  3. Send the invite.

πŸ’‘ Pro tip: By default, invites are limited to your company’s email domain. If you need to invite someone outside your domain, contact support@vector.co.

πŸ›‚ Understanding User Permissions in Vector

User roles determine which administrative settings someone can manage. All three roles can use Vector, view users in their organization, and view credit usage and billing.

πŸ‘‘ Owner

Owners have the highest level of administrative access.

Owners can:

  • Use Vector

  • View users in their organization

  • Invite new users

  • Assign Owner, Admin, or Member roles

  • Remove users

  • Promote or demote users, including other Owners

  • View credit usage

  • View billing

  • Access organization-level settings

  • Manage SSO/SAML configuration

  • Access organization API keys

You can have multiple Owners.

πŸ›  Admin

Admins can manage most user and organization settings but cannot manage Owners.

Admins can:

  • Use Vector

  • View users in their organization

  • Invite new users

  • Assign Admin or Member roles

  • Update users other than Owners

  • Remove users

  • View credit usage

  • View billing

  • Access organization API keys

You can have multiple Admins. Admins cannot change Owner roles or manage Owner-only security settings such as SSO/SAML.

πŸ‘€ Member

Members can use Vector and view organization-level information but cannot manage users or security settings.

Members can:

  • Use Vector

  • View users in their organization

  • View credit usage

  • View billing

Members cannot:

  • Invite or remove users

  • Change user roles

  • Access organization API keys

  • Manage SSO/SAML

You can have multiple Members.

If you need to invite someone outside your domain, contact support@vector.co and we can help update your settings.

How do I change my role?

Ask an Owner or Admin in your organization to update your role. Admins can manage Admin and Member roles, while only Owners can manage other Owners.

Who can view credit usage and billing?

Owners, Admins, and Members can all view credit usage and billing in Vector. Your user role does not restrict access to this information.
