Vector Platform FAQ

Last updated: September 15, 2026

What is Vector?

Vector is an ABM platform for GTM (marketers, demand generation teams, and revenue leaders, and more) that helps you understand which accounts to focus on, activate the right buyers, and show how marketing contributes to the funnel.

Vector brings together contact-level buying signals from across your go-to-market motion, then uses AI to help score and prioritize the accounts you care about.

With Vector, you can:

  • Identify buying signals across website activity, research intent, LinkedIn engagement, CRM activity, job changes, AI-powered research, and more

  • Prioritize accounts using AI to evaluate those signals

  • Understand why an account matters by seeing the activity and contacts contributing to its stage

  • Activate audiences across advertising and sales workflows

  • Show marketing’s impact across campaigns and opportunities

💡 In simple terms: Vector helps you find the right accounts and buyers, understand what they’re doing, take action, and show how marketing contributed.

What are Signals?

Signal Library are pieces of evidence that tell Vector something meaningful has happened with a person or account.

They can come from website activity, research, advertising, social engagement, CRM and marketing activity, job changes, call recordings, and public web research.

Signals are organized into families within the Signal Library, where you can configure the activity that’s relevant to your business.

💡 Signal does not mean Intent. Research Intent is one type of Signal. “Signal” is the broader term Vector uses for evidence across the platform.

Which Signals are available on September 16?

Vector’s September 16 launch includes Signals across several categories:

  • Research Intent: Contact-level research across configured topics

  • Website Intelligence: Contact- and account-level website identification and activity

  • LinkedIn Organic Reach

  • LinkedIn Post Engagement: Reactions and comments on your LinkedIn content

  • CRM Activity: Supported sales and CRM activity

  • Marketing Activity: Supported marketing events, initially through HubSpot

  • Call Recordings: Fathom at launch

  • Job Changes: New hires, departures, promotions, and champion tracking

  • AI-powered web research: Public web research for relevant account evidence

The Signal Library groups related Signals into families to make them easier to configure.

Can I use any Signal to build an audience?

Not at launch.

Enabling a Signal does not automatically make it available as an individual audience condition.

On September 16, the new account-level conditions available for audience building are:

  • Tracked Account

  • Account Stage

Broader Signal-based activation is planned for the future.

What are Tracked Accounts?

Tracked Accounts are the accounts you’ve chosen for Vector to actively monitor, score, and prioritize.

You may have a much larger universe of accounts available in Vector. Tracking lets you focus Vector on the accounts your team actually cares about and evaluate the available Signals to understand where they are in their buying journey.

A simple way to think about it:

  • ICP = Fit: Who looks like your ideal customer?

  • Tracked Accounts = Focus: Which accounts do you care about?

  • Account Stage = Readiness: What does their activity suggest about where they are in their buying journey?

How do Account Stages and scoring work?

Vector uses AI to evaluate the Signals associated with your Tracked Accounts and place each account into one of six Account Stages.

As new activity happens, Vector can reevaluate the account and its stage.

Vector takes a glass-box approach to scoring. Rather than giving you a score without context, you can see the events and evidence that contributed to Vector’s assessment.

What are Account Journeys?

Account Journeys show you the activity and evidence behind an account’s stage.

You can explore the individual events Vector has seen across the account and drill into specific contacts, time periods, and Signals to understand what’s happening across the buying committee.

💡 Account Stages tell you where an account is. Account Journeys help explain why.

How do Segments fit into Vector?

Segments are Vector’s activation layer.

Once you know which contacts and accounts you want to reach, Segments let you define an audience and take action through supported destinations.

Existing Segment functionality remains available on September 16, with Tracked Account and Account Stage added as new ways to build and refine audiences.

Individual new Signal Library Signals are not general Segment conditions at launch.

What requires a CRM connection?

You do not need a CRM connected to use every part of Vector, but connecting a supported CRM such as HubSpot or Salesforce gives Vector additional context, including accounts, ownership, opportunities, and supported sales activity.

Some Signals and workflows may also require their own integrations.

To integrate your CRM click on one of the following:

What does the Vector Pixel do?

The Vector Pixel powers Website Intelligence, helping you understand which people and companies are visiting your website and what they’re doing there.

Website activity can also contribute evidence to account scoring, and Website Intelligence is not limited to your Tracked Accounts.

What is Campaign Reporting?

Campaign Reporting helps you understand how your advertising campaigns are performing and how well they’re reaching and engaging the audiences you care about.

It combines available campaign performance data with Vector’s ICP-focused insights to help answer:

“How did this campaign perform with the people and accounts I actually care about?”

What are Account Stories?

Account Stories bring together the activity surrounding an opportunity into a narrative that helps show the broader journey behind it.

When an opportunity opens or a deal closes won, Vector can look back across the Signals available for that account and surface the relevant marketing and buyer activity that happened along the way.

Stories help marketing teams communicate that journey internally and can be shared or exported for use elsewhere.

💡 The simplest way to think about Vector:

Signals tell Vector what’s happening.

Tracked Accounts tell Vector where to focus.

Account Stages help you prioritize.

Account Journeys explain why.

Segments help you take action.

Campaign Reporting and Stories help you understand and communicate what happened.

How do user roles, SSO, credit usage, and billing work?

Vector has three roles: Owner, Admin, and Member.

Owners and Admins can invite users and manage access, while Members can use Vector and view organization users. All three roles can view Credit Usage and Billing.

SSO/SAML configuration is available to Owners only.

Q: Where should I put the Vector pixel?

A: Install the pixel on all pages you want to track. We recommend adding it via your CMS or Google Tag Manager. Click here to add the pixel anywhere it's valuable to track.

Q: How will I see visitors that are non-U.S.-based? Which countries and regions are supported by Vector's identification service?

A: Vector is geofenced to the U.S. IP-to-company will fire only as a fallback for U.S.-based visitors.

Q: How can I change my settings to only allow users from specified domains?

A: Head to Vector Settings to manage your Allowlist and Denylist.

Q: I visited my own site and it showed up as someone else. Why?

A: This happens occasionally due to shared devices or login data. We’re always improving accuracy.

Q: Do you have privacy policy language for Vector?

A: Yes! Use this: By accessing our site, partners may use cookies and related tech to connect your actions to personal data they may hold (e.g., your email). We or they may send communications to those emails or profiles. To opt out, email security@vector.co.

Q: Why am I seeing anonymous visitors?

A: We prioritize accuracy over volume. You’ll see about 10% contact match rate, and ~30% with IP-to-company fallback.

Q: How accurate is Vector’s contact-level data?

A: Tests show 60–75% accuracy when compared to cookied contacts in HubSpot.

Q: How long until I start seeing visitors?

A: It depends on your traffic, but many customers see results within a few hours.

Q: How do IP-to-company fallback, domain verification, and opt-out work?

A: Use fallback IP-to-company in Pixel Settings. For domain verification, use folderit.net or *.folderit.net. For opt-out, only load Vector post-consent if using a CMP.

Q: Is Vector GDPR compliant?

A: Yes—U.S.-only geofenced.

Q: Do you service the EU?

A: We surface U.S.-based contacts only. For E.U.-based users, we may show company-level info.

Q: How can I confirm the pixel is installed correctly?

A: Open your browser console, type vector or inspect source code and search "vector".

🔍 Intent

Q: What info does Vector give for contacts showing intent?

A: Name, title, email, LinkedIn URL, and company.

Q: Is intent only based on my site traffic?

A: Nope! We monitor 36,000+ offsite topics too.

Q: Is Vector just traffic intent?

A: No—it's content intent. Our AI analyzes behavioral signals, not just page visits.
