Overview
This guide walks you through how to create a List View in Salesforce that captures leads or contacts based on activity data coming from Vector. This allows you to easily identify and manage contacts who have engaged through the Vector platform.
Step 1: Set Up Vector to Sync with Salesforce
Before you build your list view, make sure the right data is flowing from Vector into Salesforce. Here's what to check in your Vector platform settings:
🧩 Required Settings: Field Mapping
To make it easier to filter and identify Vector-driven activity in Salesforce:
Go to Field Mapping in your Vector Salesforce integration settings.
Click Add Mapping.
Under Custom Field > Custom Value, type in something like
Vector
.Choose a field in Salesforce to store this value (e.g., a custom field called
Source Detail
).
This value will help signal that a particular activity or lead came from Vector.
💡 You can also map over details like:
Segment name (e.g., "Intent - ABM Topics")
Activity date/time
Type of trigger (e.g., Site Visitor vs. Intent)
✅ Optional but Recommended Settings:
Create new activity: Ensure Vector is creating an activity record when a contact engages.
Create lead/contact/account if not existing: Make sure new records are created if they don’t already exist in Salesforce.
Step 2: Create Your List View in Salesforce
Once the data is flowing into Salesforce, you can create a filtered list to keep tabs on Vector-driven activity.
🚀 How to Create the List View:
In Salesforce, go to Leads (or Contacts, depending on what you're tracking).
Click Create New List View.
Name your list something like:
Vector Leads
.Choose visibility: “All Leads” or “My Leads.”
Add a filter based on your above mapping:
Example:
Lead Source
equalsVector
Or filter by your custom field that was mapped during setup
Click Save.
You’ll now see all records coming into Salesforce with a Vector-triggered activity or lead creation.
Bonus: Enhance with Lead Scoring
Once you have your Vector data syncing, consider combining it with lead scoring in Salesforce. You can:
Score based on specific segment names (e.g., high intent topics)
Score based on frequency or recency of activity
