How to Score Salesforce Leads with Vector Data

Last updated: June 12, 2025

Want to prioritize the right leads in Salesforce? Vector gives you powerful contact-level data you can use to influence lead scoring — whether it’s website visits, ad clicks, or offsite intent.

Here’s how to score leads in Salesforce using Vector’s data.

What You’ll Need

Before getting started, make sure:

  • You’ve connected your Salesforce instance to Vector.

  • Your Salesforce fields are mapped to receive Vector data (like activity type, source, or page visited).

  • You’re using a lead scoring system in Salesforce — native or through tools like Salesforce Engagement or custom workflows.

Step 1: Sync Vector activities to Salesforce

Vector can automatically send activity records into Salesforce for any contact that meets your filters in a Segment.

To set it up:

  1. Go to integrations on the left panel → Salesforce settings

  2. Ensure you've enabled activity records (this allows vector to send activity records when a contact does an action in your segment)

  3. Go to your Segment that you want to score contacts from

  4. Make sure “Action” → “Salesforce”

  5. Ensure the segments is turned on

🎯 Step 2: Use Salesforce workflows to apply lead scoring

Now that your activities are flowing in, let’s turn them into scores.

You can do this with:

A. Salesforce Flow Builder

Use Flow Builder to update a custom “Lead Score” field when a Vector activity is logged.
Examples:

  • +5 points for showing offsite intent for your product category

  • +15 points for clicking on your pricing page

  • +10 points for clicking on an ad from a target account

B. Third-party tools

If you're using something like LeanData, Clearbit, or Salesforce Engagement, you can map Vector activity fields to influence your existing scoring model.

🧪 Pro Tip: Customize score weights

Not all Vector signals are equal. Here’s how to think about weighting:

SignalSuggested Score

Ad click from target account

+15

Website visit to high-intent page

+10

Multiple visits in one week

+20

Offsite intent on competitor

+5

Use this logic to focus on leads who are both active and strategic.

🔁 TL;DR

  1. Build Segments in Vector to track the right activities.

  2. Push those activities to Salesforce as tasks/records.

  3. Use Salesforce automation to apply and adjust lead scores.

  4. Route high-scoring leads to your sales team faster.
